A First For Me :)
I have been a digital scrapbooker for 5 years now and today I used a layered digital template for the first time!! I will be using these more often I think!
I downloaded a free template from PageMaps HERE to see if I liked it. (free one is down the bottom of the page). Instructions are included in the download if you have no idea like me.
You will need Photoshop or Photoshop Elements to be able to use these templates.
This is what the template looked like before I started...

and then I opened up the papers I wanted, dragged them onto the template and used the clipping mask function to cut them to the right shape...was so easy...and fun :)

I am so excited about the Scrapathon tomorrow night!!! Although I did have a nightmare about it last night haha. I only have 10 sets of photos so hopefully I don't get them all done and not have anything else to do.
Will be back sometime on Sunday with the layouts I create at the Scrapathon :D

Wave Rock Retreat Layouts
I just had an awesome weekend away with 60 other keen scrappers. It was Scrappin' Outback's 5th birthday and 9th retreat and had a jam packed weekend full of scrapping, laughs and great food with heap of wonderful women.
Amy and I travelled up early Friday morning thinking we would be one of the first to arrive, but at 9am the place was already filling fast with some ladies already scrapbooking and others grabbing some stock before anyone else got in there first ;) Hopefully I can add some photos of the hall and shop to this post once Sharon gets back and emails me some..hint hint :)
I taught my 'Paper Embellishments' class on Friday arvo...
Feminine version using Crate Paper 'Lilian' collection

Boy version using Crate Paper 'Orbit'

On saturday arvo I taught my 'Those Things we Do' class...
Feminine version using Cosmo Cricket 'Early Bird'
I had a few ladies ask me what the font in the journalling was...you can download it HERE

Girl Version using Cosmo Cricket 'Girl Friday'

I was able to get some other layouts done too. This one is from Lis Cassey's 'Celebrate' class but I changed it to bush walking and used the gorgeous Cosmo Cricket 'Earth Love' collection...
And at the Parker's farm about the bridge Tom build...
I ran out of photos by Saturday afternoon so Karen announced that I would scrap other peoples photos for $15 a page to go towards cancer research...that raised $45 yay!
It was such a lovely weekend and I loved meeting so many new ladies..hopefully we can get to know each other even better at future retreats :)

Inspired to Scrap but need papers...
Amy and I got together last night for a time of scrapping as she awaits the arrival of her baby. I was only able to get one layout done as I need new papers to go with the photos I have. The girls are going to do some pages today...so it will be great to see what they come up with :)
This is my friend Ros and her baby Charli.

Might be back later with some more uploads...

Wave Rock Retreat Layouts
Well, once again the retreat was AMAZING! I feel so blessed to be apart of these retreats by Karen at Scrappin' Outback twice a year.
My two classes went well. This retreat I taught 2 single layouts. The first one demonstrated the Cricut Design Studio and the second one was designed by Lynette Caroll and demonstrated layering with chipboard.
Design Studio class...

3D Effects class...

These layouts were from Lis Cassey's classes. Lis designs great layouts for using mulitple photos on a page... (to view them larger, click on the photo)

And this layout is from Sharon Manning's class...

and this layout I did in my spare time...

The next Wave Rock Scrapbooking Retreat will be on the 16th-18th of October 2009...start getting ready as this is Scrappin' Outback's 5th birthday and it's going to be a BIG ONE!
I have 3 more layouts to show you that I did today at craft group but have to wait to photograph them in daylight.
Feels so great to be scrapping again!!!

Night with my Sister-in-Law
Both our hubbies were away so Mick and I had a scrap night last night and I stayed the night so I didn't have to drive home:)
I was able to do 4 layouts which I am wrapped with.
These first 2 were from a TLC kit I was given at the Scrap of Faith retreat.

The journaling in this Princess layout is from the 'His Princess' book we all received at the retreat. I am just loving it and will probably make some more layouts using the letters in it which are love letters form God to us written around Bible verses.

A layout about Angus at 7 weeks old, the day after we picked him up from Perth.

SoF Retreat Photos
I have been trying to get these photos on here for the past 3 days now and have just had the chance....
I had the most awesomest of weekends! I met a lot of my online friends from Scrap of Faith and we had the best time together scrapping, laughing, crying, worshiping and laughing some more.
I flew to Brissie from Melbourne on Thursday and stayed with Karen's daughter Sarah. We did a bit of shopping at Garden City on Friday and then headed to the retreat at 5pm where our arrival was not as I expected. We had been laughing in the car and when we pulled in we were at the point of laughter where you can't turn back and the snot and tears are flowing....I am sure everyone wondered why we were in such a state...so everytime someone looked at me I burst into laughter again...strange I know.
The retreat went until Sunday arvo then I stayed the night at Nat's house, went to DFO the next morning and then flew back to Melbourne.
Here are some photos from my awesome weekend...
On my way to Brissie...just love these type of photos.

I met Lesley for the first time at the airport with Karen...we hit it off straight away...what a blast!
