A Digital Layout

I had the urge to do a digital layout.  For this layout I used a freebie kit HERE from Sweet Shoppe Designs and also a digital layered template you can find HERE.

This is my gorgeous sister on her 40th.

Surfs Up!

I was going to attend the Wave Rock retreat in October but aren't able to go now so decided to get my butt into gear and scrap at home. I've been printing out lots of photos and am about 18 months behind in my photos do would like to scrap more often. Here are today's layouts.

I Scrapped!!!

I haven't scrapbooked for 7 months and had a massive urge to so I went down to Scrappy Sisters and bought some new products. While I was in Perth I taught homeschool kids craft and had dwindled my stash down so was in need for some fresh products.
I was able to complete 3 layouts and hope to get more done Tuesday with my friends.

A Scrap Camp

I was blessed with a weekend away with my new friend Nicky to her Kazzazz Scrap Camp in Baldivis.  I was able to get a few layouts completed as well as some unfinished projects finished at last.  All day Saturday I made Twocan Stitch orders and made some pocket money :) I had a very tiring but awesome weekend with a great group of ladies.

I love this photo so much of Murray and his girls.  We had ridden our motorbikes out to some caves and I took this of them in the cave on my iPhone.  I love it!

October 2011 Wave Rock Retreat layouts

Well I have finally gotten around to uploading my layouts from the retreat 2 weeks ago! (Thanks to a reminder from Lissa)

I was able to get 5 singles and 3 doubles finished as well as helping Karen in the shop.

It was such a great weekend once again with all new tutors!

These two layouts are from Mistra Hoolahan’s classes.  I LOVED getting dirty and learning some simple but very effective techniques.

 

These next 3 layouts were from our trip to the snow in Melbourne in July.  I have done a double layout for each of the girls albums and will do another double for our family album.

I’m off to Lissa’s tomorrow and hope to get some more scrapping done :)

Next week I am doing ‘A Week in the Life’ by Ali Edwards (Google it to find out more).  I will be taking my camera with me where ever I go and taking photos of everything I do (minus the private things) and then at the end of the week I will scrapbook an album about my week.  I plan to upload my photos here each day so you can follow along if you like!

Weekend Scrapping

These are the 5 grand daughters on Murray’s family’s side.  A while ago I did the 5 grand sons page.  These gorgeous photos were taken on New Years Eve last year. 

For Mother’s Day this year I wrote my daughters a letter and gave them each a piece of heart jewellery…

That was heaps of fun getting out the supplies last night for a scrap :)  I had to get up extra early today though and clean up all my mess I made ready for a meeting at my house at 9am…that's the good thing about Digital scrapping!!…no mess :)

I snuck a quick double layout in last night before bed. We are off to Perth for the week so no more scrapping this week...maybe next week?

Scrapping in the Bush

We have just got back from camping in the Norseman bush for the Easter break. It was hot, dusty and fly ridden but I was able to get some scrapping done on Sunday. Mum brought a gazebo with zip on sides which I named the 'bubble' as it was the only place where we could escape the flies. Here's me scrapping (ignore the really bad camping/hat hair)...

I really enjoyed getting the supplies out again...hopefully these school holidays I will have time to do more.

New Layouts

Last night we had our Scrapathon. There were 14 ladies joining in on the challenge and Linda took away the prize money with 11 layouts completed. We have decided the next one will be mid-April. The girls have some new ideas for the next challenge so stay tuned...

I was only able to complete 1 single and 1 double last night as we had a bit of a family drama an hour before the scrapathon. Tayla broke her arm and I had to take her to emergency, but made it back not long after it started :) Thanks Lissa for helping out while I was away :)

 

This is Murray's parents. They are such a wonderful example of how a marriage can be, are awesome parents and fun grand-parents. We love them to bits :)

 

While we were in Melbourne, Murrays brother took us for a flight over their Mum and Dad's house...

I still haven't packed away all the tables and my supplies from the Scrapathon yet so I have been doing a bit of scrapping in between church, going out to the farm and sleeping....
They are simple layouts but I have really been enjoying scrapping at my own leisure. In preparation for the Scrapathon I put kits together with a PageMap and photos so I have been working my way through those, but it is now time to pack away and return my house back to how it's supposed to be (and I have run out of double sided tape).

Scrapathon Madness

Last night was our scrapathon! There were 10 of us participating. To add to the sketch, single and double layout challenges I set, I also added a mystery word challenge to make it a bit more challenging. In the end, after 4 hours of solid scrapbooking and friendly competition, Belinda won the 'most layouts' and took home the $50 cash :) Belinda did 11 layouts in 4 hours...I did 5.

I had a great time. We have decided to do it more often...maybe another one in February.

I think because you have a 'competition' mindset, you actually get layouts done, where as in a social scrapping environment, you chat more and sometimes go home with none done. Both types of nights are great and both have their purpose...so lets do both :)

Another Digi

Just snuck another digital layout in using a PageMaps templates before I set up for the Scrapathon tonight.

This photo was taken on a stormy night just over a week ago. We had fish and chips on the beach with the cousins. Was lovely :)

Retreating at the Rock :)

I have just returned from the 11th Wave Rock Retreat by Scrappin' Outback and have thoroughly enjoyed the company of 50 other keen scrappers.

This year Karen gave us a sketch challenge to complete with the twist that we had to add 'something borrowed, something blue, something old, something new'. I made it into a double layout and used our new house photos...


I was able to get 3 layouts done that weren't class layouts.

I had a fabulous time and am in the mood to scrap. I wasn't ready to stop like some years.

The next retreat is on the weekend of the 25th of March :)
