I was inspired last night after looking at Anthea's blog at THIS post and decided I would give the 'alpha background' a go..but it wasn't as easy or nice as I had hoped....I think it would work better with spray paint to get into those gaps nicer. I painted cream paint on first then sprayed over it with glimmer mist.I would like to try this again using a different technique at some stage....can you actaully get acid free spray paint??
Here is the alpha's placed on the kraft card before I started painting...great for all those chipboard alphas you can't make words out of!!
I just fell inlove with this quickpage when I saw it today and just had to use it... My journalling reads: 'We are now in the cold months and I look back on these photos of the girls having a ball at the beach and long for the warmer days. I am over being cold and not being able to get out and have fun without rugging up. Bring on summer I say!!' Credits: Holly Designs 'Carefree QP' Find it HERE (scroll down a bit)
This layout is about my Mum and her guitar. She got this guitar when she was 14 and still has it at 60! She was 18 years old in these photos...do you ever wish you knew your parents when they were younger? I do...
Products are all from the Crate Paper 'Lillian' Collection :)
Is there a certain style or page layout for scrapbooking that you seem to keep going to?? There is for me and it is frustrating me!
I do a lot of 'L' shaped layouts with a strip of PP down the left of the page then ribbon or embellishements down the botton going to the right. I was trying so hard today not to do ANOTHER one..my first layout I succeeded but my second one I just ended up giving in. If you scroll through my blog you will get an idea of what I mean.
Here are todays 2 layouts using some of my new papers :)
I will be teaching 3 classes at the Scrappin' Outback retreat this year. My Friday arvo class is ready to go but I am yet to design my other 2. I am inlove with the papers I have here to use though...will drool over them for a bit longer ;)
I had the most awesome opportunity to shop at Scrappin' Outback yesterday!

We had our craft day at the church today...after a long break. In 3 hours I was only able to complete 1 layout :( My problem being my lack of photos!! I really need to get onto that so I can start thinking about my classes for the Scrappin' Outback retreat.
Here is the layout i completed. Those gorgoeus flet accents and ribbons are by Mindy Terasawa.
This photo is of Bree right before our Youth Service on Saturday night. Ashlee picked her clothes for her :)
I have been painting toilets at the church all afternoon so I thought I would sit and relax while doing a digital layout while Murray snoozes on the couch :)
Here is my digital version of our school holidays..this one focuses more on the friends my girls had over.
This is a place to view my scrapbooking layouts that I have created over the past 13 years...both paper and digital. Over the past couple of years, scrapbooking has taken a back seat as I've ventured into more craft avenues such as hair accessories..
